Fast Facts

All about CCS.

Community Christian School admits students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally made available to students at the school.

Application and Enrollment

Each student must apply for admission in writing. Forms may be obtained by downloading at the bottom of this page or in person or by telephoning the school office (303-452-7514). A registration fee must accompany the application form. (See current tuition and fees schedule.) This fee is non refundable unless the student is refused admission to the school.

A student should be able to demonstrate satisfactory work, a desire to attend, and a proper attitude to be admitted to the school and to continue as a student of CCS. Students with a history of disciplinary problems or who have been expelled from another school need not apply. CCS does recognize cases in which disciplinary problems may be corrected through a change in educational philosophy, discipline, and environment.

Re-enrollment and New Enrollment

During one week in February, CCS permits students currently enrolled to register for the following year at a reduced rate. Any family enrolling new siblings must pay the new student re-enrollment fee for that child. (See the current tuition and fees schedule.) Applications for all other students are accepted the week following re-enrollment week.

Pre-Kindergarten Application Process

We are licensed by the State of Colorado to have a 4 year old program. We will accept applications throughout the year from 3 or 4 year olds, but they cannot attend until they are 4 years old. We offer 2, 3, or 5 day programs.

Kindergarten Application Process

New kindergarten student applications can be submitted the first week of November. Students entering kindergarten must be five years old before they are tested. The test must be completed by August 15 and therefore, children must be five by August 15 to be admitted. The administration reserves the right to make individual decisions. All students applying for kindergarten will be required to pass our basic readiness test administered by our staff. Appointments are arranged after receiving the application, the Parent Agreement Form, and the registration fee. The kindergarten teacher sets up the testing date. The test is designed to determine a child’s “readiness” for school.

Generally, a child performing below average on this test does better as a student if permitted to “wait” another year before starting kindergarten. The entire registration fee, except a nominal fee to cover the cost of the test, shall be refunded if a child is not accepted.

High School Application Procedure

The procedure for enrolling a high school student is much more demanding than the elementary procedure. We are seeking to offer our program only to those students who are serious, not only about their studies, but also about living for and serving the Lord. Therefore, a different application form and procedure is used for admission. Families should refer to the CCS Senior High Handbook (available in the office) for these admission requirements. All current CCS eighth graders must follow this procedure as well.

Parent Agreement

Parents and students must agree to abide by the policies of the school as stated in this handbook, the Parent Agreement Form, the classroom, and any other statements issued throughout the school year. In that CCS is founded on the truth and validity of the Bible as outlined in our Doctrinal Statement, parents will be asked to sign an agreement form acknowledging they have read the statement and give consent to the teaching of these truths and related principles in all aspects of the curriculum.

Academic Readiness Testing

In an effort to place incoming students in the proper classes, all incoming students will be scheduled for a time to come in for testing before the family interview. After the application, the Parent Agreement Form, and registration fee are turned in and processed, a testing time will be set up.

Family Interview

As a part of the admission process, parents (and students in fifth grade or higher) will be interviewed prior to the school year. Final admission will be based upon the discussion of matters vital to a successful educational experience for the student. Before the interview, a copy of the student’s most recent transcripts, attendance, and discipline records must be submitted.

Final Admission

All admissions are tentative until all necessary forms and records are presented and on file in the school office. Final acceptance will be communicated after the parent interview. It should be noted that the accounts from other schools should be paid in full, unless special arrangements have already been obtained.

Current Shot Record

All students entering kindergarten will be required to submit a birth certificate and current shot record. Shot report forms are available from your doctor or in our office. Parents are responsible to keep shot records current. To be exempt from shots based on conviction only, a letter of intent must be on file in the school office. Seventh graders are also required by law to have a series of shots. See your doctor for details. Continued enrollment at CCS may be jeopardized if families fail to comply.

Student Waiting List

If a class is at its maximum enrollment, potential students will be placed on a waiting list. Once there is an opening in the class, the student who has been on the waiting list the longest and meets the above requirements will be contacted, and the procedure for admission will continue. A student’s name will be placed on this list only if the school has an official application on file, and the registration fee is paid. The fee will be refunded only if the student is not accepted by the first day of school. Those who select another school prior to this date will not receive a refund. Those wanting admission after the year has begun should remain on the waiting list. They will be contacted upon availability.

Re-admission to CCS

All students withdrawing from CCS to attend another school must pay the normal registration fee should he/she decide to return. Students who have been dismissed from CCS because of disciplinary reasons may be permitted to return in the future based on meeting administrative pre-requisites.
